We are launching our second cohort of Ascenders Academy in January 2023, and are kicking it off with a party! Marcy Wacker, Program Lead for Ascenders Academy, will share with a brief presentation on the benefits of mentorship. Then we will open applications for our next cohort and will have a few of our past mentors and mentees there so you can sign up and get your questions answered!
Ascenders Academy is our 6-month mentorship program designed for current students, recent graduates and those that are transitioning into our industry in our region. The structured program connects emerging designers with the tools, skills, and community relationship they need to navigate the challenging transition from design student to creative professional.
This year, we are introducing six professional development workshops that will be hosted throughout the program for even more opportunities to learn and grow in your career.
Interested in becoming a mentor?
You are an excellent fit for mentorship if you have:
at least five years of professional experience in the design industry
a desire to impact the on-ongoing development of emerging designers
a willingness to share your knowledge, experience, and wisdom and act as a guide and role model to future designers
a minimum of 1 hour per month to meet with your mentee(s)
Mentor-mentee relationships are mutually beneficial!

reflect upon your journey and share your experience with others
develop lifelong friendships
